I was raised in Seattle and graduated from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in 2004 with a focus on film and animation. I relocated permanently to Scotland in 2006 after a semester at the Edinburgh Collage of Art and now live in Edinburgh with my husband and two young sons.
My work runs the gamut from traditional to cutting edge. A painter and doodler from a young age, I have exhibited paintings across the country and have several published illustrations. However, I also produced and illustrated “Not Lost in the Universe,” an ambitious series of next generation storybooks for the iPad published by Fingerprint Play. The illustration uses hand rendered textures digitally manipulated and brought to life with animation.
My commercial work in animation spans from working for Disney Jr. (“Quiet Is…”) and CBBC (“OOglies”) to collaborating with British establishments such as the NHS and Women’s Aid. My 2011 short film ”Mikey and Jools Keep Safe” has won multiple awards on the festival circuit including the Accolade Award of Merit from the Chicago International Film Festival and the Torc Award for Education at the Celtic Media Festival.
I find inspiration in new technologies and am constantly searching for creative challenges with new materials and channels. My strength is adding visual depth to the written word through the realisation of strong characters, humorous details and imaginative compositions.
